Allergen & Safety Disclaimer
Aunty Snalex is a small home bakery in Den Haag. Every pastry is handmade with care, but the kitchen is not allergen-free. Please read this page carefully before placing an order.
Allergens Used in the Kitchen
My kitchen regularly handles:
- Gluten (wheat)
- Dairy
- Eggs
- Tree nuts (hazelnut, pecan, pistachio, almond, etc.)
- Peanuts
- Soy
- Sesame
- Coconut
Even if a specific pastry doesn’t contain one of these ingredients, cross-contamination is always possible because everything is baked in the same small space.
If you have a severe allergy, please be aware that I cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free product.
Ingredients and allergens for each item are always listed on the product page.
Food Safety & Freshness
All pastries are baked fresh for each order.
Once you collect your box, keeping it safe becomes your responsibility — but don’t worry, it’s simple.
Here’s some general advice how to love and care for your pastries:
Room-Temperature Storage
For items like:
- cookies
- blondies/bars
- muffins
- buns
- financiers
Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature.
Soft pastries stay fresh for 2–3 days, and most cookies and bars can keep their spark for 4-5 days.
Refrigeration
Some items last longer in the fridge, especially if they contain:
- fresh fruit
- cream cheese
- frangipane
- fillings that are moist or perishable
Place them in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 3–4 days.
Let chilled pastries come back to room temperature before eating — they taste much better.
Freezing (if you really want to save them for later)
Most muffins, buns, blondies, and cookies freeze well.
To freeze:
- Wrap individually
- Place in an airtight container or freezer bag
- Freeze for up to 3 months
Let them thaw at room temp or warm them gently in the oven for that freshly-baked feeling.
Handling Your Box
- Keep pastries out of direct sunlight and away from heaters.
- Don’t leave the box in a hot car.
- If you’re walking or biking home, try to keep the box level (your future self will thank you).
- Eat delicate pastries first — they’re more fragile and taste best fresh.
